This option is intended for you to control the depth of your Airbrush spray tan. Depending on what time you decide to shower (1-4 hours after appointment) you can control the depth of your tan.

How to Prepare for Your Spray Tan Appointment

24 hours before

  • Shave and wax: If you regularly wax, you should wax at least 1-2 full days before your appointment or shave with a brand-new razor.
  • Exfoliate: I recommend using an exfoliating mitt with a spray tan-safe body scrub to remove all dead skin and any leftover sunless tan. This helps prep your skin for the best results.
  • Soaps: Avoid using any bar soaps or cream-based body washes, including Dove and Olay. These products will leave a residue on the skin, acting as a barrier to your sunless tan.

The day of the appointment 

  • Avoid any product application: This includes lotions, deodorants, perfumes, body oils, etc. These products can prevent your spray tan from developing properly.
  • Clothing pre and post-appointment: Bring or wear dark, loose-fitting clothing to your service. Tight leggings or jeans are not ideal.
  • Underwear: Ideally you want as little of your body covered as possible so the tan can reach all areas that would show if you wear swimwear. Many clients choose a simple black thong. You can also tan fully nude or half nude, or I provide disposable underwear and pasties. You should choose whatever makes you feel the most comfortable.

    • What to Expect at Your Appointment 

    Step One

    We will start with a consultation to determine the color you would like and I will advise what will work best with your natural skin tone. I will then create a custom color mix unique to you.

    Step Two

    You will undress to your comfort level and step into the tanning tent. I use an airbrush tool to coat your body evenly. Every tan includes 3-D body contouring, pH balancing spray, and drying powder. 

    Step Three

    Once the tan is complete, I will clean off the palms of your hands so that you can use them without worrying about transferring color. You will dress in your loose, dark clothing and I will provide advice on when to shower. The color will start developing right away, but each option differs in total development time. For Original Tans, the color development takes 8-12 hours. For Rapid Tans, the color development takes 1-4 hours.

    Aftercare Instructions

    • Avoid water: Do not get wet or do activities that will make you sweat until after your initial rinse. Avoid swimming, hot showers, long baths, etc. Any contact with water or liquid can smudge or stop the tan from developing in that area.
    • Don't touch your body: Try not to touch your body to avoid smudging the tan. Since we cleaned off the palms of your hands at your service, try not to rest your hands directly on your body. The spray tan solution can transfer to the palms of your hands, which you may transfer to other things.
    • Rinse at the appropriate time: At your specified time, take a 3-5 minute lukewarm, WATER ONLY, rinse in the shower. You will see the cosmetic bronzer start to run off. Rinse until your water runs clear and then get out and pat dry with a clean, fresh towel.
    • Moisturize: Do this twice daily with a sunless-tan-safe lotion. Any other type of lotion will break down your tan. 
    • Avoid products that exfoliate your skin: Until you are ready to remove your spray tan, avoid using products like body scrubs, brushes, loofahs, and washcloths. These will exfoliate your tan away, reducing how long it lasts.
    • Keep using sunscreen: Spray tans do not protect you from UV exposure. Please be sure to use a spray-tan-safe sunscreen while you are maintaining your spray tan.
